About the Artwork

RITUAL is a contemporary sculptural tapestry that reflects the repeated gesture as an act of transmission, memory, and learning. Through circular composition and sculptural relief, the work transforms textile tradition into a contemporary visual language.

The central void and surrounding relief function as symbolic spaces where silence, emotion, and shared experiences reside. Repetition becomes presence. Gesture becomes structure.

Handwoven using natural fibers, the piece materializes the passage of time and the strength embedded in everyday actions. Cotton, wool, and sisal create tactile density and layered surfaces that evoke continuity and intergenerational bonds.

In RITUAL, textile is not decorative — it is sculptural, conceptual, and experiential. The viewer is invited into a contemplative and sensory encounter where memory is perceived as something tangible and embodied.
