VACÍOS (Voids) is a contemporary sculptural tapestry that explores visible and invisible absences within individual and collective memory. Rather than attempting to fill what is missing, the work acknowledges absence as an active and transformative space.
Through handwoven natural and recycled fibers, the piece translates inherited gestures and emotional memory into sculptural form. The circular composition functions as an emotional container, while the metal structure reinforces its three-dimensional presence and architectural strength.
In this fiber art sculpture, emptiness becomes material. The void is not a lack, but a charged space — a place of silence, remembrance, and symbolic repair.
The tactile density of wool, sisal, raffia, jute, and hemp creates layers that evoke time, erosion, and continuity. The interplay between softness and structure reflects the tension between fragility and resilience — a recurring theme in Beatriz Constán’s contemporary textile practice.
